If we had to rank our favorite holidays, it would go: Christmas, Halloween, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.

Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale got its reputation for being the sale of the year for one major reason: everything that’s discounted is a brand-new arrival or an already-existing favorite. It isn’t picking through rack’s of last season’s pieces picking things up that you won’t be able to wear until next year; it’s next season’s pieces—from top brands like Madewell, Barefoot Dreams, and Levi’s—that were all just released. This means that you can get next season’s trends now, at a price that is way below what you’d expect to pay for of-the-moment pieces.

This year’s sale is rapidly approaching. And we’re already adding the pieces we’re hoping to snag to our wish lists and considering it Christmas in July. Here’s everything to know about the 2023 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.

When is it?

As always, the sale dates are dictated by your Nordstrom Card status (how much you spend on your Nordstrom Card per year). Don’t have a Nordstrom Card? No worries—you can shop without one during the public access dates. Each phase begins at midnight Eastern Time.

How can I shop it?

Sale items are available both online and at your closest Nordstrom store. And you’ll be able to shop both ways on the date the sale opens to you.

One of the best ways to make sure you snag the items you want is to log in to your Nordstrom account online, peruse the preview, then add the items you’re interested in to your wish list (you’ll see the button beneath the description). This way, since so many items sell out so fast, you can log on the day the sale begins for you and have everything you’re interested ready to go.

Unlike sales past, you now can add sold-out items to your wish list. Which means that you can have it ready to go in the event it comes back in stock (which many pieces do throughout the sale). You also can now add backordered pieces to your wish list and receive a notification via the Nordstrom App when it comes back in stock.

What’s on sale?

Just about everything—coats, tops, boots, bras, activewear—are available. And all from brands we love like Good American, AllSaints, Vince, and more. It’s also the perfect time to snag shoes, coats, jeans, and more that you’ll wear for years to come (hello, cashmere sweaters!). The sale is available for women, men, kids, beauty, and home—which means you’ll be able to find just about anything you’ve been on the hunt for, from timeless classics to trendy pieces that you’ll be seeing everywhere this fall.
