Fresh from sporting a teeny-tiny cropped white Valentino blouse and shimmering silver sequin skirt to the Oscars 2022 ceremony, Zendaya rocked up to the Vanity Fair in a look that was well suited. (Pun intended.)
For the star-studded bash, the actor turned heads in a sleek double-breasted autumn/winter 2022 Sportmax suit, featuring a jacket that cinched the waist and a subtly sculptural shoulder, and trousers with a generous flare. The androgynous accoutrements? A leather tie, striking smoky eye, and a dazzling leaf-motif brooch and knuckle-duster rings courtesy of Bulgari.
With an eye that’s always attuned to her Spiderman boyfriend Tom Holland’s wardrobe, Zendaya and her longtime stylist Law Roach have a soft spot for red carpet tailoring. Earlier this month she rocked a hot pink Valentino suit at Paris Fashion Week, and she’s experimented with tailoring by Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren, Berluti, and Alexandre Vauthier in the past. Fittingly for a screen queen, Sportmax’s autumn/winter 2022 collection was a celebration of cinematic vixens and femme fatales, flitting between tailoring and vampish body-flaunting silhouettes.
Zendaya’s after-party two-piece also tapped into the Oscars penchant for androgynous looks this year. Kristen Stewart in an idiosyncratically subversive Chanel black satin shorts suit, Lady Gaga in a Ralph Lauren “liquid lamé” tuxedo jumpsuit, and Wanda Sykes in a white tuxedo by Sergio Hudson offset the high-octane glamour of embellished gowns traditionally associated with the Oscars red carpet.
