Gender is a construct and anyone can wear any clothes they want, but with all that in mind…it’s kind of funny that Gabrielle Union looks better in a menswear-inspired suit than any guy we know. Including her husband.
Union and her husband, basketball star Dwyane Wade, stepped out for a screening of Netflix basketball documentary The Redeem Team and dinner at Ballatos in New York City on Thursday, October 6, in perfectly sophisticated fall tones: black and pumpkin. Wade opted for a Zegna wool coat and matching trousers, while Union wore a loose, structural black suit by Tibi with no shirt underneath, as you can see below:
Union completed the look with shoes from Anny Nord and a Kate Spade bag. Gabrielle Union’s been on something of a pantsuit kick lately; just a few days ago, she posted an Instagram reel of herself modeling all the plaids and buttons.

Earlier this year the Cheaper by the Dozen star spoke to Glamour about her fashion and beauty must-haves and revealed which très chic European nation inspires her the most. “The women in Paris, Parisian women of all races,” she said. “I mean, it’s a different level. We went there this summer, and I just started following a bunch of these women on Instagram. And I go to one account, it leads you to five more, and it leads you to, ‘Well, if you like this, you’ll love these.’ And now I’m just obsessed with these French beauty and fashion influencers. I’m all the way in.” Now, we can’t speak for French women (heck, I can’t even speak French), but her glowing complexion and understated elegance here seem absolutely Paris-worthy.
She also shared the advice that seems to be the key to her bright and shiny skin: “Make sure to take your makeup off at the end of the night and wash your face. Because what it looks like the next day is that you’re making poor life choices. And…that has proven to be true.” Taking notes now.
