Bridgerton breakout star Simone Ashley was undeniably one of the evening’s best dressed guests at The Fashion Awards in London. Styled by Rebecca Corbin-Murray, Ashley wore a glittering lilac gown and matching hood from 16Arlington’s spring-summer 2023 collection, Lucite heels, and a Chopard collar.
As for her hair, Ashley and hairstylist Peter Lux went for the wet look, allowing a few tendrils of her natural curls to peek out from the hood. The sleek, shimmering ensemble felt fitting for Ashley, who is playing one of Ariel’s sisters in the live action remake of Disney’s The Little Mermaid.
Hooded gowns could upstage sheer dresses as the hottest red-carpet trend in 2023. Rita Ora wore a sheer nude mesh dress with a hood to a birthday party earlier this week. Olivia Wilde went for a black Saint Laurent floor-length hooded gown with a risqué cutout across the midriff for the 2022 Women in Film Honors in October. And Katie Holmes sported a body-hugging black Tom Ford wrap dress for the designer’s fashion show in September.
