Kate Middleton wore a necklace steeped in meaning as she stepped out for an engagement on Thursday, January 19.
The Princess of Wales, 40, sported a twinkling necklace with a citrine pendant—the birthstone of November babies such as King Charles III—to host a reception for wheelchair rugby players at Hampton Court Palace. The stone, which has a rich amber color, is said to hold special properties.
“The Citrine Baby Treasure Necklace is made using 100% recycled solid 9ct yellow gold and set with a beautiful citrine,” the company, Daniella Draper, explains on its website. “The birthstone for November, citrine assists in manifesting your biggest dreams, bringing in more success and prosperity.”
The color of the jewel was the perfect counterpoint to the plum color of the Princess of Wales’ Roland Mouret suit—a classic slim-flit blazer and trousers ensemble that she previously wore during her royal tour of Boston at the start of December. She finished the outfit with suede burgundy heels, gold hoop earrings by Danielle Draper, and a soft rose pink sweater that she previously wore in 2020.
Kate Middleton, who is patron of the Rugby Football League, met England Wheelchair Rugby League players and coaching team to discuss their victory in November’s tournament. The princess also hinted that her three children—Prince George, age nine, Princess Charlotte, seven, and Prince Louis, four—were fans of the sport, revealing that she and her family had watched the exciting World Cup final match on TV.
