Spotted on the front row at GCDS: Dua Lipa, who turned out to support her friend Giuliano Calza, founder and creative director of the buzzy Italian brand. The star had popped up first at Prada, where she sat front row alongside Hunter Schafer and Letitia Wright while wearing a shirt and blazer, loafers, and a padded bag from the brand.
Dua Lipa then continued her Milan Fashion Week style streak in the audience at GCDS, having switched from her preppy Prada look into a formfitting sheer lace jumpsuit with a high neck and built-in gloves. Beneath, she wore black briefs and a bra, which were completely visible. The finishing touches? A vampy red manicure that matched the bright shade of her bulbous heart bag (also from GCDS).
The superstar was juggling two trends at once with her look: The Morticia Addams–esque color scheme and vampish touches reflected fashion’s current goth-girl mood, while the sheer lace nodded to the taste for lingerie-first dressing that has seen negligee sweeping the red carpet and celebrities like Kendall Jenner styling a sweater with tights, heels, and…not much else.
At the show she posed for pictures with Calza and afterward shared a video of them together on Instagram, in which she said how proud she was of the Italian designer. The singer has been Calza’s muse for some time and has repped his head-turning ready-to-wear and accessories on multiple occasions. She was one of the first to wear his spring-summer 2023 knitted dress that’s embroidered with appliqués in the shape of the SpongeBob SquarePants character Patrick, and she’s also a fan of his crochet swimwear. There’s no doubt she’ll have fallen hard for his most recent autumn-winter 2023 collection too.
