Retailers Hit by Labor, Supply Chain Challenges See Holiday Sales Growth

NEW YORK, Aug. 6, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — Despite ongoing challenges with labor and the supply chain, retailers are anticipating strong holiday sales growth this year, according to Deloitte’s 34th annual retail holiday survey..

The survey, which polled more than 1,000 retail executives, found that 70% of respondents expect holiday sales to increase compared to last year. This is up from 65% of respondents who said the same in Deloitte’s 2022 holiday survey..

The survey also found that retailers are planning to invest heavily in their holiday marketing campaigns this year. Nearly two-thirds (65%) of respondents said they plan to spend more on marketing than they did last year. This is up from 60% of respondents who said the same in Deloitte’s 2022 holiday survey..
